Owners and operators of existing agricultural boilers and pressure vessels (BPVs) should report their devices to TSSA following the revocation of the regulatory exemption on agricultural BPVs on July 1, 2021.

TSSA is introducing more flexibility to the certification process for Operating Engineers (OE) on June 14, 2021, with Release 3 of the implementation of OE Alternate Rules for O. Reg 219/01 (Operating Engineers). The Alternate Rules Part 2 establishes an Alternate Table 8 for accrediting Qualifying Experience Time (QET).

The exemption that was previously in place for boilers and pressure equipment used for agricultural purposes was revoked last summer due to growing safety concerns that were also highlighted by the Auditor General in her 2018 report.
