As an Institute of Power Engineer Member, you will
be kept up to date on the changes being proposed by the Technical Standards Safety
Authority (T.S.S.A.) that effect our profession. We are not a Union, we have both Union
and Non-union members. We do not have any affiliation with any labour organization and
therefore are the true voice of Power Engineering in Ontario and Canada. We work in
cooperation with the Technical Standards Safety Authority in which our goal is to
guarantee standard and regulations for: The benefit and safety of Power Engineers. The
safety of the general public. The safe operation and maintenance of the physical plants of
which we are responsible for. We work in cooperation with education facilities and
government in the development of day, evening and correspondence courses in Power
Engineering. |

Magazine
|
| Members of the Institute of Power Engineers will receive the
Canadian Power Engineering Magazine. A National publication containing the latest
information on trends issues and technologies in the Power Engineering field. |

Plant Tours
|
| The Toronto Branch holds plant tours throughout the year. This
opportunity allows our members to visit sites that they would not normally have access to.
The tours prove to be very educational to our members as they are able to view different
technologies in use in operating plants. |

Events
|
| Toronto Branch members are able to attend events such as our annual
golf tournament.. This tournament sees over 70 golfers enjoying a spring day on one of the
excellent golf courses that can be found in and around the Toronto area. Prizes and
trophies are of top quality and the day is an excellent value for our golfing members. The Toronto Branch is on a list for prime seats for many of the theatre shows
that run in the Toronto Area. Branch members are notified of special offers through our
newsletters for upcoming shows. Some of the shows that have been offered to members are:
Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast and Andrew Phillip Gagnon. |

Newsletters

| Toronto Branch members receive regular newsletters that contain
information such as current legislation changes, technical information, plant tour
notifications, employment opportunities and social events. |

Price Costco Membership
Ability
|
| Toronto Branch members are able to apply for Price Costco
membership. Annual fees are $40.00 which is usually recovered quickly through savings. If
you are a I.P.E. member and would like to make application for Price Costco membership

Membership
Information
|
| In order for you to become a member of the Institute of Power
Engineers you first must hold any class Certificate of Qualification in the Power
Engineering field (Stationary Engineer), and who abide by the code of ethics and deemed
acceptable by the executive of the Toronto Branch. Student membership may be held by
anyone who is enrolled in a recognized Power Engineering Program. Associate membership may
be held by anyone who is employed in areas that are identified or allied with Power
Engineering. these include, but are not limited to water treatment company employees,
auxiliary equipment manufacturing and sales employees, etc. Membership with the Toronto
Branch is obtained by making application to the membership chair. a brief outline of your
history and qualifications is required for membership with the Toronto Branch.

Membership Costs
|
| Membership fees are $95.00 per year or $85.00 per year if paid
within 30 days. Your membership dues are tax deductible under
union/professional like dues. |
