Production Services Manager – Powerhouse
Position
Summary: Reporting to the
Director of Manufacturing this position is responsible for managing
and co-ordinating all Powerhouse activities, in order to meet plant
operational requirements and to ensure the satisfactory attainment
of Company objectives regarding quality safety and continuous
improvement.
Responsibilities:
Supervision of Powerhouse employees (Second and Third Class
Operating Engineers) in all production and maintenance activities.
Maintain costs within established budgets. Analyze opportunities for
energy efficiency gains. Identify potential alternatives for
Powerhouse upgrades. Manage various special projects and process
improvements from inception through completion. Ensure compliance
with all plant safety goals and intiatives. Ensure compliance with
all relevant codes and regulatory requirements. Deliver employee
training programs regarding quality, safety, environment and
performance
Technical
Qualifications: First
Class Operating Engineer certificate of qualification 7-10 years
experience managing high pressure steam plant operations Computer
experience with MS Office, Megamation, Kronos, and Bailey DCS
Controls Familiarity with OHSA and WSIB legislation Familiarity
working with a Collective Agreement Knowledge of ISO Quality Systems

AbitibiBowater, Iroquois Falls Division
has immediate openings for 2nd Class Operating
Engineers. Remuneration for this position is $32.61 per
hour.
Reporting to
the Pulp and Utilities Superintendent, the successful
candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient
operation of the division’s Thermal Mechanical Pulping
Plant, Steam Plant, (which includes a hog fuel boiler,
Reciprocating Air Compressors and packaged Chiller Units),
Potable Water Treatment Plant and the Effluent Treatment
Plant, all from a modern centralized control room.
Successful
candidates will be required to follow a 12 hour shift
rotation and to relieve the 2nd Class Shift
Engineers during their absence. Successful candidates will
become a member of CEP Local 90 and will be required to
supervise a crew within this unionized environment.
This position
requires:

Class Operating Engineers Certificate

valid Class 2 Potable
Water Certificate or the willingness to attain within a
reasonable time
